How much does a home repair cost in Limburg?

Washing machine and dishwasher repair in Limburg
In Limburg we are called out most often for washing machines and dishwashers. These are the questions we hear most, with what you can check yourself before you book.
Why won’t my washing machine spin any more?
First check that the laundry isn’t bunched on one side of the drum: with a small load the machine refuses to spin to protect itself. If that isn’t it, the lint filter is often blocked, and you can unscrew and clean it yourself. If the problem stays, it is usually worn carbon brushes in the motor or a faulty speed sensor. That needs a technician.
Why is my washing machine leaking?
Look where the water comes from. Under the door points to a torn door seal or a sock caught between the door and the seal. At the bottom right, the lint filter often hasn’t been screwed back tightly enough. If the detergent drawer overflows, you are using too much detergent. If the water comes from the back or from under the machine, a hose or the pump is leaking inside. Turn off the tap and have a technician look at it.
Why won’t my dishwasher drain?
Usually the filter at the bottom is full of food scraps, or the drain pump is blocked by a shard of glass or a fruit sticker. First take out the filter and rinse it under the tap. If the water stays, the pump needs to be checked.
Why isn’t my dishwasher heating up?
If the dishes are cold at the end of the programme and grease stays on the plates, the dishwasher isn’t heating. It is usually the heating element, which on many modern machines sits in the circulation pump, or the temperature sensor. More on dishwasher not heating.

Tumble dryer and fridge repair in Limburg
In many Limburg homes the tumble dryer stands in the garage or the cellar. It is colder there, and a heat pump dryer then dries more slowly. Clean filters make the difference.
Why won’t my tumble dryer dry any more?
On a heat pump dryer the condenser is almost always the cause. Lint clogs the fins, the air can’t get through and the laundry stays damp. Clean the lint filter after every cycle and the plinth filter every month. If the laundry stays damp, you need a technician.
Why does my tumble dryer fill up with water?
The condensed water container overflows because the pump can’t lift the water up, or the float switch is stuck. If you had a fixed drain connected, first check that the hose isn’t kinked behind the appliance.
Why has my fridge stopped cooling?
When a fridge stops cooling, it is often the fan of the no-frost system, an iced-up evaporator or the thermostat. First check that the door seals still close properly and that the back isn’t pushed right up against the wall.
Can you top up the refrigerant gas in my fridge?
No. We don’t repair refrigeration faults: no leak in the cooling circuit, no faulty compressor, and so no regassing either. The leak is usually in the foam insulation of the back wall and can’t be reached, and the full job costs more than the appliance is worth. If the technician finds this on site, you only pay the €69 diagnosis.
