Why does water stay in my washing machine?
If the machine won’t drain, something is usually stuck in the lint filter or the drain pump, or the drain hose is kinked. Coins, buttons and hairpins are the usual culprits. It can often be solved without new parts. If the pump no longer turns, it has to be replaced.
Why is my washing machine so noisy when it spins?
A grinding or rumbling noise that gets worse with every wash points to worn drum bearings. If the machine bangs and moves across the floor, the shock absorbers or springs are worn. A ticking or rattling sound often comes from a bra wire or a coin between the drum and the tub. The technician usually removes that in about a quarter of an hour.
Why won’t my dishwasher drain?
Usually the filter at the bottom is full of food scraps, or the drain pump is blocked by a shard of glass or a fruit sticker. First take out the filter and rinse it under the tap. If the water stays, the pump needs to be checked.
Why do my dishes still come out dirty?
Do the spray arms turn freely and are their holes open? Limescale and food scraps block them. Also check the salt reservoir and the rinse aid. If the result stays poor, the circulation pump isn’t giving enough pressure or the appliance isn’t heating.

Tumble dryer and fridge repair in Liège

Why won’t my tumble dryer dry any more?
On a heat pump dryer the condenser is almost always the cause. Lint clogs the fins, the air can’t get through and the laundry stays damp. Clean the lint filter after every cycle and the plinth filter every month. If the laundry stays damp, you need a technician.
Why has the drum of my tumble dryer stopped turning?
If you hear the motor but the drum stands still, the drive belt has usually snapped or come off the pulley. If you hear nothing, the door switch or the motor may be faulty. A new belt is a common and quick repair.
Why is ice forming in my fridge?
Ice or water at the bottom of the fridge usually comes from a blocked drain hole for the defrost water at the back. Clear it carefully with a cotton bud and lukewarm water. If the door no longer closes properly, humid air gets in and freezes. On a no-frost appliance, the defrost system may also be faulty.
Can you top up the refrigerant gas in my fridge?
No. We don’t repair refrigeration faults: no leak in the cooling circuit, no faulty compressor, and so no regassing either. The leak is usually in the foam insulation of the back wall and can’t be reached, and the full job costs more than the appliance is worth. If the technician finds this on site, you only pay the €69 diagnosis.
