Why does my washing machine stop halfway through the programme?
If the machine hangs, it is usually waiting for something: water that isn’t coming in, water that isn’t draining or a door that won’t stay locked. Check that the tap is fully open and the inlet hose isn’t kinked. If it is the draining, clean the pump filter at the bottom front. If it stops at the same point every time, a sensor, the pump or the electronics are usually faulty.
Why won’t my washing machine spin?
A small load or a single heavy towel unbalances the drum, and the machine then refuses to speed up. Add some laundry and try again. My washing machine leaks at the door or underneath: what is wrong?
Water at the front, by the door, usually comes from a torn door seal or laundry caught between the door and the seal. If there is water under the machine, the pump filter sometimes isn’t screwed in properly, or a hose is leaking inside. Turn off the tap until the technician arrives and leave the water that is still in the machine, so he can see more easily where the leak is.
Why is my washing machine banging or squeaking?
Banging during the spin points to worn shock absorbers or a machine that is no longer level. A squeaking or grinding noise that gets worse every week usually comes from the drum bearings. Don’t wait too long: worn bearings can damage the tub, and then the repair costs more.
My washing machine shows an error code: what now?
