Oven repair at home
Is your oven no longer heating up, does the fuse trip or does the door no longer close properly? Below you can read what is usually wrong and what you can try yourself. If that doesn’t help, a technician comes to your home.
We repair ovens at home for all brands: built-in ovens, steam ovens and freestanding cookers. Usually it is a heating element, the thermostat, a fan or the door hinges. Those parts can be replaced without much trouble.
The diagnosis costs €69. If you decide not to go ahead with the repair, that is all you pay. If you choose the repair, the total is at most €179, parts extra.
Prices
How much does a home repair cost?
One fixed price for every appliance and every brand. No hourly rate, no surprises afterwards.
A technician finds the cause of the fault at your home. If you then decide not to go ahead with the repair, you only pay for the diagnosis.
If the technician can repair it, you pay €110. No time limit: even if it takes long or a second visit is needed.
Spare parts are not included. The technician tells you in advance if a part is needed and what it costs.
Chrono surcharge for a visit in the evening, at the weekend or just a few hours after your request.
Second appliance during the same visit? The technician can check and repair it too for €80.
Maintenance as well? The technician can also clean and check your appliance thoroughly, for €50 per appliance on top of the diagnosis and repair.

Common oven problems
Why is my oven not heating up?
This is the complaint we hear most often. The fan runs and the light is on, but the oven stays cold? Then a heating element is almost certainly faulty: the fan element at the back, the bottom element or the top element and grill. A faulty thermostat can also stop the oven from heating up.
Why does the fuse trip when I turn on my oven?
If the fuse or the residual current device trips as soon as you switch the oven on, or after a few minutes of heating, there is almost always a short circuit or leakage current in one of the heating elements. With wear, the wire inside the element touches its casing. Do not switch the oven on again until a technician has looked at it.
Why does my oven door no longer close properly?
An oven has to keep its heat in. If the hinges are worn, the door falls open or leaves a gap at the top. A lot of heat escapes, which can damage the control panel above it, and your dishes no longer turn out right. A worn door seal also lets heat escape. We replace hinges, seals and broken door glass.
Why is the fan in my oven so noisy?
Modern ovens usually have two fans: the convection fan at the back, which spreads the heat, and a cooling fan at the top, which protects the electronics. If the bearings of either fan are worn, or the blade is catching on something, you hear a loud metallic rattle or hum.
Oven error codes by brand
Many ovens show a code on the display when something is wrong. These are the ones we come across most often:
- Flashing clock (all brands). After a power cut the clock flashes, for example at 0:00. Many ovens only work again once you set the clock. That is not a fault but a safety feature.
- Bosch, Siemens and Neff (e.g. E011, E0532, E300). These E codes usually point to a problem with the control module, a stuck button or a communication error. An E code during pyrolysis (self-cleaning) often means a faulty door lock.
- Whirlpool, Bauknecht and Ikea (e.g. F03, F04). Codes in this range almost always point to the temperature sensor (PT100) or a fault in the electronic module.
- Miele (e.g. F10, F55). On Miele ovens, F10 to F14 often concern the temperature sensors or the cooling system reporting overheating.
Mention the code when you book. The technician then knows in advance which part he will probably need.
What can you try before calling us?
Is my oven not working because the clock isn’t set?
Only the display lights up and the oven does nothing else? Check whether the clock is set. Without the time set, many models simply won’t start.
How do I reset my oven?
Is the display behaving oddly or showing an error code? Switch off the oven’s fuse in the fuse box for 15 minutes and then switch it back on. The electronics restart and a temporary software fault often disappears. If the code comes straight back, something really is broken.
Can dirt make my oven cook badly?
Yes. If there is a lot of baked-on grease on the edges or the door seal, the door no longer closes perfectly and the oven loses heat. Clean the edges and the seal with mild soapy water. Don’t use aggressive oven spray on the heating elements or the fan at the back.
Your oven working again, with no surprises

We are an independent repair service, not an official service partner of any brand. For you that means: no waiting weeks, a fixed price you know in advance, and a technician who works on ovens of different brands every day.
A good oven lasts 10 to 15 years on average. Most faults during that time, such as a burnt-out heating element or worn hinges, are fairly quick and affordable to repair. That is almost always better value than buying and fitting a new oven.
Is your oven still under the manufacturer's warranty? Then we refer you to the manufacturer or the shop. A repair by us could void that warranty.
Where do we repair ovens at home?
Our technicians work in Antwerp, the Brussels-Capital Region, East Flanders, West Flanders, Flemish Brabant, Limburg, Liège, Namur, Hainaut and Walloon Brabant.
Do your technicians have to set off from Vilvoorde every morning?
No. Our technicians live all over Belgium and set off every morning from their own municipality. The parts they need are delivered straight to their homes. That way we get to you quickly, without long drives, and often as soon as the next working day.
Other appliances
Is another appliance broken too? During the same visit we repair a second appliance for an extra 80 euros.
Frequently asked questions about oven repair
The diagnosis at home costs €69. If you choose the repair, you pay at most €179 in total, however long the technician needs. Parts, such as a heating element, are charged separately and the technician tells you the price in advance. If you decide not to repair after the diagnosis, you only pay €69.
That is the cooling fan, and it is normal for it to keep running. It stops the hot air from damaging the display and your kitchen cabinets. It stops by itself once the oven has cooled down enough, usually after 10 to 20 minutes. If it runs much longer, or doesn’t run at all, have it checked.
Usually, yes. An oven lasts 10 to 15 years on average and the common faults are fairly affordable to fix. A repair of at most €179 plus parts is almost always cheaper than a new oven, especially once you count the installation. If a repair doesn’t make sense, the technician will tell you honestly.
Better not. The foil reflects the heat, which can make the bottom heating element overheat and crack or melt the enamel on the oven floor.
